Cast out the Nets
Luke 5:4-6
“When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.
Living a life of faith is like fishing. You cast the line, throw out the nets, but you can’t control what you catch. It is wearisome when our best efforts do not lead to the outcome we are hoping for. Faith is all about listening for God’s still small voice, obeying, taking action and then trusting God with the results.
