During CNY, there is often an emphasis on how well one is doing (“prosperity”).
Whether it’s in the symbolism of the gifts given/received, the actual dollar value of angpao money, or conversation topics, the pervasive idea behind it is a trust in self and what we can achieve by our own strengths, talents and abilities.

We picked these verses and images because they are a stark reminder (especially as an angpao design) that regardless of what we may give or receive this CNY, we are to ultimately look to God and trust in His providence and sovereignty
